Feb 09, 2025: Saturn-Mercury Conjunction Will Set a Near-Term Bottom
The U.S. economy showed resilience despite trade and policy uncertainties. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq experienced declines, while the Dow had a slight drop. January's job gains fell short of expectations, but positive revisions were made for previous months. Fourth-quarter earnings continued to exceed expectations, with a projected growth rate of 16.4%. Gold reached a record high, trading above $2,900 per ounce. Consumer sentiment fell due to concerns about tariffs and inflation. U.S. crude oil prices fell amid trade tensions and demand concerns. The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note declined as investors reassessed inflation and Federal Reserve policy.
I called out a 3% drop last week that did not materialize. I could see Jupiter going direct has flipped the cycle a little, but my perspective remains the same. Even though Sunday Futures bounced back and traded in green with the Eagles winning the Super Bowl, it is unlikely to stay green. I expect about a 1% drop on Monday. Mercury enters Kumba Rasi on Monday night and could rattle the futures. I expect a big move on Tuesday, possibly setting an intermediate bottom (swing low) as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday. I expect SPX to trade below 5910 to take a long position and expect a new all-time high later this month.
Until we set a swing low near 5910, it is high risk to go long or short. MMs can use this range to wipe out the premium on both sides – calls and puts.

Astrological Calculation for the Week Starting from Feb 09, 2025
- Moon transiting in Punarvasu Nakshatra looks bullish but will turn bearish when the market opens on Monday, Feb 10, 2025.
- Mercury will make a conjunction with Saturn from Monday evening, which will steal the show for the rest of the week.
- We may see a swing low near 5910 on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. If that happens, then it is okay to go long.
- Ahead of the long weekend [Feb 17, 2025 – holiday], I expect the market to be slightly bullish on Thursday and Friday.
- Note: Buy and Hold Strategy will not work, as a big crash is possibly coming up when we set a new all-time high.
